CertainTeed Gutter Replacement: The Fresno Owner’s Guide
If you have CertainTeed gutters on your Fresno home and a section has failed, we stock and install CertainTeed-compatible gutter replacement parts, with most residential sections running $180 to $420 installed depending on length, profile, and access. We carry matching profiles and colors on our trucks for common CertainTeed lines, so most swaps happen in a single visit. You’ll usually spot the problem the same way every Fresno homeowner does: a sagging run after a downpour, water pouring over the end cap, or a rusted-through section dumping water against the foundation where it used to flow cleanly to the downspout.
CertainTeed gutters are solid products, but nothing survives forever in the Central Valley. Between the summer heat baking the finish and the winter downpours testing every seam, a ten-to-fifteen-year-old gutter section giving out is normal. The good news: this is one of the more straightforward replacements we do, and you’ll see a written price before we touch anything.
Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To
CertainTeed has produced several gutter lines over the years, and the replacement part has to match not just the profile but the gauge and the color. The most common profiles we see on Fresno homes are the 5-inch K-style in standard and oversized (6-inch) versions, along with CertainTeed’s half-round line on older ranch homes and some Tower District bungalows. The K-style is easy to spot from the ground: it has a flat back, a flat bottom, and a decorative front that resembles crown molding. Half-round is exactly what it sounds like.
Before quoting the job, we confirm two things. First, the width: 5-inch and 6-inch gutters look similar from a ladder, but the brackets, end caps, and miters are not interchangeable. Second, the material: CertainTeed made both aluminum and steel gutter sections, and mixing the two in a single run invites galvanic corrosion at the seams. An OEM CertainTeed replacement is the cleanest match when your installer still has the original product line and color code available. Quality aftermarket equivalents are a solid option for older CertainTeed colors that have been discontinued, and we’ll show you the profile match side by side before we quote it.

Signs Your CertainTeed Gutter Replacement Is Failing
- The section is pulling away from the fascia board. The bracket screws have stripped or the aluminum has fatigued around the fastener holes. You’ll see a visible gap between the gutter back and the wood, and water will run behind the gutter instead of into it.
- Water is spilling over the front edge during rain. The gutter is either pitched wrong, clogged with Valley dust and debris, or the section has bent along its length. A bent section can’t be re-pitched; it needs to come out.
- You can see holes or rust streaks through the bottom. This is the end stage, and it’s more common than you’d think in Fresno. Leaf litter sits in the bottom of the gutter, holds moisture through the dry months, and eventually rusts the thin aluminum from the inside out. Once you can see daylight through the bottom, replacement is the only honest fix.
- The seams at the end caps or miters are separating. The sealant CertainTeed used at the factory dries out after a decade or so, especially with the temperature swings we get. If it’s just a seam, we can sometimes reseal it. If the metal around the seam has started to corrode, the section gets replaced.
- The gutter is sagging but the brackets are still tight. Aluminum gutter has a memory, and once a section takes a hit from a ladder or a falling tree limb, it develops a low spot that holds water. Holding water means standing water, and standing water means mosquitoes in the summer and a shorter life for what’s left of the section.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a typical single-family home in Fresno, replacing one 10-foot to 16-foot section of CertainTeed-compatible gutter runs between $180 and $420 installed. That includes the new section cut to length, matching end caps or miter corners if the section terminates at either, new hidden brackets, and sealant at every seam. If the downspout elbow has to come out and be reconnected, add $40 to $80. A full single-story gutter re-hang around the entire roofline typically lands between $1,200 and $2,800 depending on linear footage, corner count, and whether we’re working off ladders or staging.
What drives the price most is access. A single-story ranch with a clean drip edge is quick. A two-story home with landscaping, a concrete tile roof overhanging the gutter, and a tight property line takes longer and costs more. You’ll see your exact number in writing before any work starts, and it won’t change once we begin unless we find damage we couldn’t see from the ground and you approve the add in writing. Every replacement carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the section doesn’t drain properly or the seams leak within a year, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a gutter section is not dangerous the way a high-tension garage spring or a live electrical panel is, and some Fresno homeowners do their own gutter work. What you can safely do before calling us is check your downspouts for clogs, clean out the debris, and take photos of the failing section from the ground. What goes wrong with DIY gutter replacement is usually not injury, it’s buying the wrong profile, hanging the new section out of pitch, or damaging the drip edge and fascia while wrestling the old brackets off. We’ve arrived at jobs where a homeowner spent a full Saturday on a section that drained backwards because the fall wasn’t set right.
If you want us to handle it, call (559) 785-9461. Erik Lindgren will confirm the profile and width, give you a written number, and have the section matched and swapped without drama. Estimates are free.
FAQs
Most CertainTeed aluminum gutters last 15 to 25 years in the Fresno climate, with the lower end applying to gutters under heavy tree cover or on the west-facing side of the home where the afternoon sun is hardest on the finish. Steel versions tend to go earlier. If your gutters are nearing that age and one section has already failed, expect to replace others over the next few years.
Small holes can be patched and separated seams can be resealed, and we’ll always tell you when that’s an honest option. But the repair has to add real life to the gutter, not just buy you one more rainy season. A rusted-through bottom, a bent section, or a run that has pulled loose at the fascia is a replacement situation. We won’t sell you a patch that we know won’t hold.
Most single-section replacements on a one-story Fresno home take between one and two hours from ladder setup to clean-up. That includes removing the old section, checking the fascia board for rot where the old brackets were mounted, and installing the matched replacement. If we’re replacing a full run with multiple corners, plan on half a day. Call (559) 785-9461 and we’ll give you a realistic window for your specific home.
We stock common 5-inch K-style sections, end caps, brackets, and sealant on our trucks in white, brown, and a few other standard colors, along with a sample board to match less common CertainTeed colors. If your home has a custom color or an unusual profile, we order the exact match and come back when it’s in. We also stock compatible parts for GAF and Owens Corning gutter lines if that’s what your roofer originally installed.
Whether it’s one section or the whole run, start with a phone call. We’ll walk the roofline with you, give you a written price in dollars, and leave the ground cleaner than we found it. Call (559) 785-9461 for your free gutter replacement estimate in Fresno.
